Growing up in the traffic control industry, Hilary Sherman was no stranger to hard work and innovation. From an early age, she attended numerous ATSSA (American Traffic Safety Services Association) and FBA (Flasher Barricade Association) meetings with her father, unknowingly laying the foundation for her future in the construction world. As a child, she thought her father’s work was all about creating stickers — specifically the heart, clover, American flag, and Dalmatian retroreflective demo stickers that became iconic in the industry. Little did she know, these early experiences would shape her passion for construction and traffic safety in ways she couldn’t yet imagine.
With an understanding of the industry’s nuances and a lifelong exposure to its intricacies, Hilary decided to turn her early experiences into a career. After years of learning the ropes, she founded California Traffic Safety, a full-service construction business focused on traffic control and safety solutions, bringing a fresh, innovative approach to the field.
Her company thrives on the values of safety, precision, and quality — values she learned from her father and the industry that shaped her. With her unique perspective, Hilary leads her team with a commitment to delivering exceptional results, all while ensuring the highest standards of traffic safety and infrastructure development.
When she’s not overseeing projects or developing new solutions for clients, she’s actively involved in industry such as the CalTrans Mentor Protégé Program.
